A blower door test measures the total air leakage of the building envelope, using a calibrated fan to depressurize the home and quantify infiltration in ACH50. It’s required for current IECC energy code compliance and verifies that air-sealing details — top plates, penetrations, window and door installation — are actually built as designed, not just as drawn.
